Fix problems soon

Monday, March 22, 2004

Dear Editor,

I think it's about time the City Council and manager let our city water employees do their job. Let them do whatever is necessary to take care of the ammonia problems immediately.

There is no way the citizens of McCook can pay the astronomical utility bills it would take to pay $43 million in fines.

Why was this allowed to go on since 1999?

If our water rates continue to rise to take care of past mistakes, you may see a mass exodus from McCook and it's doubtful that there will be a lot of new businesses or industry coming here to McCook.

Do you want to see McCook become a ghost town?

A concerned citizen.,

Lucile Banzhaf
