Letter to the Editor

Blessing, curse

Friday, March 5, 2004

Dear Editor,

With the blessing of moisture (so greatly needed) it must be followed by the curse of weeds next month.

It is much easier to kill baby weeds than big ones before they can suck all the moisture out of the ground, or get high enough to hide the evil grasshoppers.

This is a good time to get a handle on alternative ways to kill weeds.

I will not waste space on the many ways to kill weeds without deadly chemicals, but point out that there are many good used books online for sale and once you buy these half price books and copy good parts out of them, resell them.

Examples of three books, that helped battle weeds last year. "500 ways to use baking Soda" and "Frugal Gardener" last was "Trowel and Error."

As in all things, use the "KISS" method. "Keep it simple stupid"

GOOD luck!
