Jasper E. Cole
TRENTON -- Jasper E. Cole, 106, died Wednesday (Sept. 12, 2001) at the El Dorado Manor Home in Trenton.
He was born Oct. 5, 1894, at Blue Springs, Mo., to Joseph Charley and Elizabeth Jane (Pierce) Cole. The family moved to Oklahoma and later to Superior, before moving to the Culbertson and Trenton area where he grew up. He entered the U.S. Army, and served during World War I. He received his high school diploma at the Veterans Day Program from Lakeside Central High School in Trenton in November 1999.
On Sept. 13, 1919, he married Maude Blanche Nealeigh. They spent their married lives farming in the Cornell community south of Trenton. He retired in 1978.
He was a member of the Church of God at Cornell and Trenton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Blanche on Feb. 29, 1976; one son, Elbert Cole; one daughter, Gladys Cemer; and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Roy Cole and wife, Helena of Trenton; three daughters, Lily Faith of Lyman, Veda Lewis and husband, Carl of Trenton, and Louise Perez and husband, Dan of Northglen, Colo; one daughter-in-law, Virginia McCasland; two sisters, Josephine Cadle of Clio, Mich., and Mary Keller and husband, Carl of Trenton; 13 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Church of God in Trenton with the Rev. Richard Karr officiating. Interment will be at the Cornell Cemetery at Trenton.
Memorials may be given in his name, and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton.
