Writing project

Dear Editor,

Hello, my name is Devon Kieft. I have dark brown hair, blue eyes and I am 14 years old. I like to watch television, play video games and go online. I also enjoy swimming, playing basketball and spending time with my friends. I have a job at Kaspers cleaning services from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for $7 and hour.

I live with my mom and step-dad in Muskegon, Mich. Muskegon is located near the beaches of Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake. I am an eighth grader at Orchard View Middle School. I have been in the Orchard View district for my entire education to date. I am also looking forward to entering ninth grade next year, as it will be my first year in Orchard View High School.

I am writing you mainly, however, to place a request that you print my letter in your newspaper. This letter is on behalf of an assignment in my language arts class taught by Mrs. Dirkse. She has been teaching us letter writing and thought this would be a good assignment to test what we've learned the last few weeks. I hope this letter is safely delivered to whomever is in charge of this sort of thing and that it might get published in the McCook Gazette. This is one of three different newspapers I am writing to and I am hoping to get a response from each.

Thank you for your valuable time and I hope if you publish my letter in your newspaper it will attract a few readers' attention and I wish everyone to happy holidays.
