Unger, Garey exchange vows

Angela and Scott Garey

Angela Unger and Scott Garey of Des Moines, Iowa were united in marriage May 4, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating.

Parents of the couple are David and Patricia Unger, Angus Garey and Jerda Garey-Svengalis, all of McCook.

Grandparents of the bride are Emory and Lucille Puts and Melvin and Glenva Unger.

Rebecca Wiemers of Omaha served as the matron of honor. Lindsey Ord of Lincoln was the bridesmaid.

Jay Prestes of McCook served as the best man and Jerry Iverson of Lincoln was the bridesgroomman.

Brittany Unger of McCook was the flower girl and Greg Gaston of McCook was the ring bearer.

Candlelighters were Brian and Cory Gaston of McCook and the ushers were Kurt Ringenberg of Pierce and Chance Unger of McCook.

The pianist was Marie Coffey of McCook and the soloist was Kerri Unger, also of McCook. Sara Putz played the flute for the ceremony.

The reception was at the McCook Fairgrounds Community Building. Steve and Chris Berry of McCook and Jan and Frits Hubert and Dave and Danette Baxter, all of Denver, Colo., were the host couples.

Pam Gaston of McCook and Denise Ringenberg of Pierce, Iowa were guestbook attendants.

The couple is making their home in Des Moines, Iowa. The bride is a veterinarian assistant at Avondale Animal Hospital in Des Moines and the bridegroom is the district manager for the Des Moines Register.
