PALISADE -- Mae Catherine Curtis, 83, of Palisade, died Wednesday (July 2, 2003) at Chase County Hospital in Imperial.

She was born May 31, 1920, to Elmer Christian and Laura Catherine (Miller) Wrightsman at Holmsville. She attended and graduated from Beatrice High School.

On Sept. 21, 1939, she married Charles Curtis at Beatrice.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in McCook and Post No. 318 American Legion Auxilary in Palisade.

Preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Charles of Palisade; three sons, James A. Curtis of Palisade, Steven C. Curtis and wife, Karron, of Floral City, Fla., and Dwain L Curtis and wife, Donna, of Lincoln; one daughter, Judy Rae and husband, Frank Williams of Mandan, N.D.; two sisters, Mina and husband, Don Schimenti, of Omaha and Ellen Cifra of Fontana, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Graveside inurnment service will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Palisade Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Karr officiating.

Friends may sign the book at the funeral home today until 5 p.m. and Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
