Arthur E. Coone

Arthur E. Coone was born March 19, 1921, to Isaac and Nancy (Rousey) Coone near Heyworth, Ill. He attended school and lived in Heyworth until being called to serve his country.

He served as infantryman in the Army during World War II in the European Theater of Operations.

On Sept. 15, 1946, he married Elsie Bischoff in Oberlin, Kan. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Ill., on Nov. 17, 1952. The couple has made their home in Wauneta since 1956.

He worked as a painter, mechanic and on county road maintenance until his retirement.

Art was called to his eternal home Sunday (Aug. 31, 2003) at Chase County Hospital, Imperial.

His parents and all of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie and daughter, Jan of Wauneta; brother-in-law, Dale Bischoff and wife, Vi, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

A memorial has been established in Art's memory.
