Memories last

Dear Editor,

Thank you for the recent article by Diane Lyons. It is so nice to see my mom and dad being recognized for the good that they have done over their span of years in the community.

It was a time of sadness when Mom passed away on July 7, 2003 but her memories will last a lifetime and with all the quilts out there she will not be forgotten.

Harlingen, Texas Another duck?

Dear Editor,

Mike at night's article "If it walks like a duck" certainly applies to him.

After reading his pieces since George Bush got elected (that's right, he was elected by the electoral process and every recount showed he was the winner) it is certainly apparent that he walks and talks like a "bleeding heart liberal."

Well Mike, you only have to put up with Bush for another five years and then the pendulum may swing back in your direction. In the mean time, just keep defending that cheating, lying ex-president and remember that he was the guy that was afraid to take on old Osama.

McCook Throwing stones

Dear Editor,

After reading the commentary on weed control, God and visiting the infirm, I was amazed. How could this poor, selfless woman do all these acts of mercy? did she read Dawn Cribbs' article to these less fortunate, or just scroll down for them?

Something about throwing the first stone comes to mind.
