Why not leave?

Dear Editor,

I am amazed! I am absolutely stunned! I can't believe it! Why in the world does Steve Stramel continue to live here in the United States of America, the Land of the Free?

Why hasn't he moved to China or some other dictator run country more in line with his beliefs? Certainly no mention of the God of the Bible or the teachings of the Bible are permitted in such countries. They are completely closed countries. Ridicule is one thing but to suggest that everyone cancel their subscriptions to the Gazette because of my writings is quite another. Have you canceled your subscription Steve? I bet not. I have discovered that there is a great body of Christians of like precious faith in Southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas. I receive phone calls, people approach me in the store, restaurant or on the sidewalk to speak words of encouragement and appreciation. "Long may our land be bright with freedom's holy light." "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Cordially,

Paul Schneider

McCook Ruffled feathers

Dear Editor,

It seems Mike at Night's article on Bush sure ruffled some feathers. I thought Mike was cool and calm in the article, but he sure drew some mean-spirited name-calling in rebuttal. I would suppose that Daryl Nyberg is the opposite of a bleeding heart liberal. What exactly might that be? Daryl also says we are going to be stuck with George five more years.

I doubt that, but who knows?

Maybe the American people haven't had enough of a lousy economy and trillion-dollar deficits. I heard a rumor that the liberals were going to make sure all the votes were counted this time, especially in Florida. That was the biggest robbery since the O.J. case.

A lot of people still think the Supreme Court just in time to save Bush. The recounts were done by Bushlings several months later. Plenty of time to make adjustments.

As for that cheating, lying ex-president, it seems the polls at the time showed he would have beaten your man if he were allowed to run. That must have been hard to take.
