It came to light that the great blackout was attributed to an energy company in Ohio. The company had many warnings that their lines and equipment were not up to snuff, but their CEO had just recently held a 600,000 fund raiser for Cheney, and had donated many thousands of dollars to the Bush campaign, so not much pressure was put on him to conform. Money talks, doesn't it?
