Tavern hits $1 million paid out in Keno prizes, city revenue looks to be on the rise (Local News ~ 12/24/14)
McCOOK, Neb. -- City of McCook revenue from Keno funds quadrupled last year and 2014 looks as though it could be even better. Old Sarge's Bar on West First Street has already paid out more than one million dollars in Keno prizes, reaching the milestone for the first time this past weekend. 2014 represents the first full year of Keno sales for the popular tavern, since taking over operations when Overtime closed in 2013... -

Pool Tournament raises $2,149 for Humane Society (Local News ~ 12/24/14)
McCOOK, Neb. -- The ninth annual "Shoot for the Shelter" Pool Tournament Dec. 13 was a huge success! It was awesome even. During the event, looking around you saw folks having a good time visiting with friends, playing pool and telling pet stories. With 64 entrants (32 teams) competing, we raised $2,149 for the shelter! What a day! It could not and would not have happened without a LOT of folks helping out and donating time, services or items. A huge thank you goes out to them all!... -
