No dancing for money
(Column ~ 05/10/12)

I went to pick up my 9-year-old after school and she pulled her usual stunt, asking AS she's entering the truck, with her friend standing beside her, "Can she PLEASE come over and play this afternoon? Please, please, please?"...

(Editorial ~ 05/10/12)
When talking about current events, it's easy to take our system of government for granted or overlook its strongest points altogether. It's easy for the coffee shop and radio call-in crowd to forget the unique position the judiciary holds -- or should hold -- in the balance of power as the final authority in interpretation of laws...

Big dog-doo tattoo
(Letter to the Editor ~ 05/10/12)
It amazes me how smart our officials think we are when we make the brilliant decision to vote them into office. In recent years, I think these elected officials believe they have been appointed as our "ruling class" and are now smarter than those who elected them. There are no good ideas except those of the rulers...
