The other day I was sent on assignment to interview a group of men travelling through Nebraska on tractors. I felt like jumping on the back of one of their trailers. After spending a few days on the road with my oldest son earlier this year, making a couple of trips across the state in a car and making a three-day trip to central Nebraska, I'm thinking about exchanging my SUV for a Mini-Cooper, giving up all this glory and travelling...
Boost for the water system

The new booster station for west McCook is lifted into place Wednesday by Doak Construction's large crane. The $250,000 facility, constructed by Engineered Fluid Inc. of Centralia, Ill., will replace a smaller booster station which has been in use since 1964. Jesse Dutcher, McCook's utility director, said the new booster station will be put into service before Oct. 1.
