You are right on! You made more sense in these few sentences than Ben Nelson has in his whole career.

When I called Nelson's office today (yeah, I call, I admit it) they acted with such disdain and arrogance. I tried to talk to them, but they are not interested, I wish they'd listen to you. I wouldn't even care if I was not one of the lucky folks to get the money. Just to know that the heartless and greedy unions didn't get it, and to know that the inner city Mayors did not get it, would be fine.

I have trouble with optimism right now as well. As I have stated before, I now know what the decent German folks must have felt like when they awoke one morning and found that Hitler had control of their country.

We are in deep do do. Pray hard.

  • I am tempted to ask for a bail-out, and tell them that I will lose my business, without assistance, and be forced to discharge 10,000 of my employees, and declare bankruptcy, Chapter Seven. I should be able to obtain a financial boost of one Billion dollars within a month of my plea. Hmmmm. Tempting.

Of course, I don't have a business, nor ten thousand employees to release, but with a Billion bucks, I wouldn't need them any more, so my dream business could go away, just as soon as I wake up.

I type in my sleep, so I am not accountable, nor will I remember where I hid the money. Well, not until no one is looking, that is.

IMO, that is about what is going on right now. The greed of the few/many, is about to destroy the country of the whole.

We need our Redeemer badly folks. Jesus won't tolerate graft, or corruption, in His government. In Him, His Shalom. Arley

  • I do understand the theory of stimulating the economy through spending. But I am not sure that the government does. Alot of money is being funneled into government agencies to extend benefits so that people can stay unemployed longer. And raise the amount paid out for the benefit...the unemployment benefit is so rediculously low to begin with, raising it $25 or so is pointless. These people will pay debt, thier unemployment isnt enough to cover everything, even with a raise. I havent seen any money going anyplace that will stimulate the economy any time in the near future.

If you want to stimulate the economy quickly, the money needs to make its way to the hands of the tax payers. A MEANINGFUL AMOUNT OF MONEY. They will make thier payments, and spend some money to improve thier standard of living. This will revive the old supply and demand thing, people will be recalled to work so they can spend money as well.

I dont believe in giving money to government agencies and Unions that will benefit a select few while the rest of us get to pay for it.

  • In retrospect, we would not be in this dilemma had not big businesses gotten greedy. A large portion of the jobs that the "common man" did and made a decent living at, have been outsourced to other countries with cheap labor.

It is hard to find anything, from toys to clothing, electronics, even tools that are not made overseas. Ever tried to call tech support for any product? Could you understand the "Tech" when he spoke to you?

Bring our jobs back home and we won't need a "Stimulus package".

Please don't fall for all the anti-business propaganda. Our own government drives business out of the country. They over tax, over regulate and let lawyers run amok.

For every sin business commits, government commits ten. It is not businesses that have run up our Federal Obligations to over 65 Trillion...yes, Trillion. That was done by nasty stinking politicians, folks rotten enough to mortgage the future of entire generations.

American Businesses are the good guys. I know Democrats want you to hate any guy that drives a Caddy, that kind of thinking is wrong.
