Quest Update

Earlier the quest was for THE wedding dress. Well, since I am the MOB (mother of the bride) I can report - yes THE dress has been purchased. The initial fitting as taken place. Now the quest is on for the dresses for the sister of the bride, the bridesmaids and the MOB.
However as the MOB, my personal quest is to find suitable attire. Okay, the father of the bride gets to wear a tuxedo and that was decided for him. However, my quest is stressing me out. (Please understand the bride reads this blog faithfully and she KNOWS I am kidding.)
Now, granted the wedding is a summer one which means I will have to find something that will be cool enough for the day but warm enough to be comfortable in the summer air conditioning. It will also have to be something I can wear again.
There isn't a great deal of choice for my pleasantly plump exterior (or posterior for that matter). However, I am frugal enough that I can't understand paying an arm and a leg for an outfit. So, I have been catalog surfing (no luck so far) and internet surfing (no luck either) to find something. Sewing - not even an option - since I long ago determined I am domestically challenged and that isn't going to change at this point in time.
Just wish me luck finding an outfit in the right color, right size, price range that will be suitable and will find approval by the bride AND the maid of honor.
Where the heck are Stacy and Clinton when you need them... haa haa (That is for my girls who LOVE to watch "What Not to Wear.) Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Thanks for the suggestions!! I appreciate it. Betsy
Have you tried www.Drapers.com or www.coldwatercreek.com for your MOB dress? Coldwater Creek has 3 stores in NE. However Drapers always has a great selection of formal dresses/outfits.
