A letter to current, future chamber members

Reflecting on 2022 and moving into 2023, I wrote a letter to our current and future members:

To the Future Members of the McCook Chamber of Commerce,

What an exciting time it is to live in McCook, NE! With so much potential looming on the horizon, I am excited to invite you to be a member of the McCook Chamber of Commerce and join the growing number of businesses, organizations, non-profit entities, and individuals who have partnered with us.

You have a chance in your business or organization to connect with us at the Chamber, to be a catalyst and invest in what we are doing to support our community. Your partnership is critical to the chamber because, without members, we can’t put together events like Heritage Days, Bash on the Hills, or any of our shopping promotions. We would have a hard time advocating on behalf of the business and education leaders in the community about public policy. And the networking opportunities we provide are invaluable when you join the chamber. I write all this to say, we see the chamber as a team, and the members are our players. And we need every player in McCook because that is what makes us strong and able to grow McCook to be the best town in Nebraska!

I hope you will consider your position in the community and with the Chamber and choose to get involved. I would love to come to your business and visit with you about the ways in which we can help you. After all, this is a partnership and it takes both of us working together to support the mission of the organization and the community in all that we do. We are here for the community and it’s our sincere wish that you will feel welcome to make a commitment to the McCook Chamber of Commerce.

To the Current Members of the McCook Chamber of Commerce,

Whew … what a year! I have been so honored to take the reigns of this great organization and help it grow and develop into a group that we can all be proud of! I couldn’t have done it without the amazing support from the over 213 active members that we have today.

I think sometimes, the members that have stayed through the good, the bad, and the ugly sometimes get lost in the hustle and bustle of the everyday mundane. It’s my true desire to make sure you don’t feel that way! It is because of you, the members that stuck it out, we are still here today and stronger than ever.

My hope in the coming days and weeks is that I can get out to meet with and visit with every one of you. The relationships we build are critical to the success of the chamber and I want to be able to meet face-to-face to hear your concerns and celebrate your wins.
