MPCC Board commits $1 million to ball fields, raises tuition and room fees
BROKEN BOW, Neb. - At its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, the Mid Plains Community College Board of Directors voted to approve $1 million of capital funds for the construction of new ballfields in McCook for use by the MCC baseball and softball teams.
They also voted to increase resident tuition for the 2023-24 academic year.
Tuition will increase by $4 per credit hour to $104 for residents. This represents a 3.45 percent increase. Non-resident tuition will increase by 3.42 percent from $130 per credit hour to $135. Fees will remain unchanged.
Directors also approved a 6.4 percent increse in all board plans and a $30 per semester increase to all rooms.
The board also approved a five-year contract for area-wide cable television service with Apogee at a cost of $51,202 for one year with a 3 pecent increase each year.
Other business included approving an audit report, approved support for the Nebraska State Educational Attainment Goal, and heard a Retention and Enrollment report presented by Vice President of Student Affairs and MCC Kelly Rippen.
