CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Peggy Beutler, age 87, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Nov. 7, 2022, at Kearney Regional Hospital.

She was born in Frontier County on Feb. 21, 1935, to Alfred and Laura (Hilker) Farr. On May 25, 1952, she was wed to Charles Whipple, to this union two sons were born: Jim and Steve. On Oct. 14, 1978, she then wed John “Jigs” Beutler in Elk City, Okla.; he preceded her in death.

Peggy was an excellent cook. She loved to have holiday meals and Sunday dinners with family and friends. According to family, if you were hungry, just stop at, “Mom’s,” ‘Grandma’s,” “Aunt Peg’s,” or whatever the title may be. Nobody went hungry around her house. Peggy loved to design flowers, as well as do interior design and decorate homes.

Peggy and her sister Carol loved to go shopping. They traveled to many locations and went on cruises together. Peggy was a member of the St Paul’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of Cambridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Laura; husband, Jigs; and brother, Wes Farr.

Peggy is survived by her two sons, Jim and wife, Karla and Steve and wife, Vesta, both of Cambridge; four grandchildren; sister, Carol and husband, Doyle Dawson of Arapahoe; brother, Wayne and wife, Kay of Johnson Lake, Neb.; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Farr of Cambridge.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at 10 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cambridge with Pastor Dan Weiss officiating. Interment will be in the Holbrook Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Lockenour Jones Mortuary. Family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m.
