McCOOK, Neb. — No players in the history of football at any level can tout their defense was better than those 2022 McCook Football League champion Chiefs.

Why? Because no team can allow fewer points all season than none.

That’s exactly what the Chiefs achieved with their 22-0 shutout of the Ravens Thursday night.

They scored 68 points in three games while allowing nothing, notta, zip, a big fat happy zero.

Thousands of football teams might say they matched the 2022 Chiefs — but none can ever claim they were better.

Breck Horner delivered enough points when he ran four yards to a touchdown.

Ian Spearman added the PAT, then Krayton Wiese connected with Kooper Rakes on a terrific 39-yard scoring pass.

Horner’s PAT run made it 14-0 entering halftime. The Ravens had only allowed 13 points in two other games.

Spearman’s 12-yard aerial connection with Davidson provided the final TD for this Chiefs’ championship season.

Keenan Richards added some juice to this sweet watermelon when he caught one last two-point PAT pass from Spearman.
