Raiders rock in season finale; Eagles edge Cowboys
McCOOK, Neb. — The Raiders ran, passed and took interceptions to touchdowns during an impressive 26-0 finale over the Colts Thursday.
All this took place following a 0-0 first half.
Suddenly, DeAndre Hill dashed 65 yards and the Raiders (2-1) were on their way to a second win in three games this MFL season.
Mason Roblee ran 15 yards for the second score, making it 12-0 through three periods.
The 1-2 Colts’ comeback plans took a major setback when Asher Wilson picked off an attempted pass.
Wilson took the interception 10 yards for a third Raiders TD. Brody Anthony’s PAT run made it 20-0 for the late great John Madden’s favorite team.
The Raiders found better success with a pass. Conner Stromberger found Brextin Moreno on the final 27-yard touchdown.
Rambler Farr added one more PAT run.
Eagles over Cowboys
McCOOK, Neb. — Conner Weaver’s 25-yard touchdown run and a Sam Graham PAT were just enough to win 7-6 over the Cowboys in Thursday’s MFL finale.
Bentley Arterburn brooke free from Eagles for a 31-yard TD gallop.
Yet amazingly — for the second time in three games — a game-tying Cowboys PAT run was stopped.
The Cowboys also fell just short to the fifth-sixth grade champion Rams, 14-13, last week.
They did win a 7-6 squeaker Tuesday when Cowboys stopped the Commanders’ PAT try.
The Eagles (2-1) finished second to the Rams among four teams.
