Rebels battle for 'Bling' in Great Bend tourney

The McCook Rebels 14-and-under softball team won second place overall at last weekend’s Grat Bend Bling Battle in Great Bend, Kan.Team members appear from left. They won 15-2 over Diamond Diablos Dos, 10-1 over Dodge City Lady Outlaws, 12-1 over Pratt Diamonds, 10-0 over Hutchinson Hornets and 6-5 over McPherson Lady Express before a 10-4 title game loss to Quicksilver of Grant Bend. “The girls battled through bumps and bruises and the heat and fought until the end. They are set to play at a North Platte tournament this weekend before hosting the Firecracker in McCook June 26-27.
