Panthers slice through McCook spikers

HERSHEY, Neb. — The Hershey Panthers added McCook to an early-season volleyball victory list Tuesday night that includes Cozad, Broken Bow, Southern Valley and Holdrege in 2020.

Hershey (6-4 record) sizzled past the Bison for 25-11, 25-16 and 25-18 wins. McCook's JV and C teams did win three-set matches that started Tuesday's action.

Senior Carley Sexson served six aces while hitters Delaney Love and Tahlia Steinback totaled eight kills each to lead Hershey.

McCook seniors Liviya Wier and Tiara Matson drilled six kills each with sophomore Gracie Wiemers whipping five past Panther defenders.

Junior Peyton Doucet hustled to 21 digs, Matson 14 and Wier 13.

The Bison slipped to 1-5 overall entering Saturday's annual McCook Invitational.
