Bison 12-and-under team sweeps Colby

COLBY, Kan. — The McCook Bison 12-and-under baseball boys reached 6-1 this season with a 6-3, 14-2 sweep of Colby, Kan., last weekend.

Bison 6, Colby 3

McCook Bison 12U got things started in the first inning as Bryson Gullion drove in one when he doubled.

McCook Bison 12U scored four runs in the second inning. Miles Pollmann, Tristan Campbell, Gullion, and Gabe Roberts each had RBIs in the big inning.

Adam Kisker led things off on the pitcher’s mound for McCook Bison 12U. He lasted three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out one.

McCook Bison 12U scattered seven hits in the game. Campbell and Gullion totaled a team-high two apiece.

Gullion drove in two runs while both he and Campbell scored two.

“ITwas a good game and our defense won that game for us with a throw out from Miles Pollmann in center field to catcher Jude Schmick,” coach Roberts remarked.

Jack Baker and Cole Walter scored two more key runs for the Bison.

Bison 14, Colby 2

The second game only lasted two innings so no gamechanger.com story was generated.

Bison played round the bases with 10 scoring in their first inning.

Campbell and Gullion both had enough time to deliver six hits in their six at-bats combined.

Campbell scored three runs with Gullion touching home twice. Both totaled a pair of RBIs.

The Bison big ripper was Walter, who doubled and singled to drive in four runs.

Roberts and Pollmann both ripped two more hits. Pollmann drove home yet another two Bison runs.

Baker and Jude Schmick both scored a pair of runs. Kisker doubled to add another highlight in a 14-hit attack covering just two innings.

Baker pitched one scoreless, hitless inning where he struck out two Colby batters.

Campbell threw 2/3 of an inning in relief before the game was called due to mercy rules.

The McCook Bison are scheduled to play next at Westco Bluffs (Scottsbluff) on Saturday.
