Roadwork set for Enders, Culbertson

McCOOK, Neb. — Road work is set to begin south of Enders later this month, and a railroad crossing on Nebraska Highway 17 was set to be closed for repairs Thursday and Friday in Culbertson.

Northbound and southbound traffic will be detoured using U.S. Highway 36 in Kansas and U>S. 83 in Kansas and Nebraska. Work is expected to take two days.

A chip seal project is set to begin July 20 on Nebraska Highway 61 from Reference Post 18.45 to Reference Post 27, Enders South.

Chip seal is an application of an asphalt binder to the roadway surface followed by an application of aggregate.

The work is anticipated to take 5 days.  One-lane traffic will occur with the use of a pilot car and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones and to buckle up.
