Two promoted at Red Willow County Health Department
McCOOK, Neb. -- Two new leaders are on duty at the Red Willow County Health Department.
Brandy Bird RN, BSN was recently promoted to nurse director and Jaymie White was promoted to business manager at Red Willow County Health Department.
She started part-time with Red Willow County Health Department in May 2017 as a Public Health Nurse. Brandy received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from UNMC-Kearney in 2006 and has had an array of experiences in Nursing.
She started her nursing career in Great Falls, Montana, in Labor and Delivery and as a Flight Nurse. When Brandy had her first child in 2012, she decided to move closer to York, Nebraska, to be near her immediate family.
She started a new field of nursing at that time working with the developmentally disabled in Grand Island. Brandy and her two children have lived in the Red Willow County area since 2016.
Since becoming part of the community, Brandy participated on the board for her local library and also taught catechism at church. She has also been a familiar face at Southwest Public Schools as their school nurse and has enjoyed working with the kids, until her recent resignation.
“Brandy is excited to start on her new adventure and get the Red Willow County Health Department Team more active in the community,” according to a release.
“She has met countless welcoming people in the area from her prior experiences and looks forward to building relationships with many more,”
Jaymie White has a combined 22 years of experience working in the healthcare field. Jaymie is originally from Salida, Colorado, and began her medical career billing for a local home health company.
In 2007, Jaymie and her family moved to Cambridge where she accepted a position as a registration clerk for the local hospital. Jaymie started with Red Willow County Health Department in 2016 and has been a very vital team member.
She is excited to utilize her vast knowledge base in this new expanded and challenging position. Jaymie has had the support of her co-workers, her husband, two children and their spouses, and five grandchildren; they have all been rooting for her success.
Jaymie also brings other talents to the office; she has been sewing COVID-19 masks for her Red Willow County Team to help them get their job done safely. “Jaymie is the first welcoming face you will see when you enter the office at Red Willow County Health Department and she is readily available to assist you with any of the services provided or direct you in the right direction,” according to the release.
