Bison quartet tops area earning Omaha mention

OMAHA, Neb. — McCook High’s girls earned four Class B all-state honorable mentions from the Omaha World-Herald last weekend.

Juniors Liviya Wier, Tiara Matson, sophomore Peyton Doucet and freshman Shawna Wilkinson were all included among the best in Class B.

Cambridge senior Korynn Clason captured a spot on the Class D-1 all-state first team just as in the Lincoln Journal-Star.

Clason averaged 23 points per game which ranked among the best in all of Nebraska, according to maxpreps.com.

Maywood-Hayes Center senior Avery Johnson was selected to the D-1 second team after averaging 14.4 points for the 23-4 Wolves.

Arapahoe’s Terri Hilker and Hope Kollar in Class D-1;

Dundy County-Stratton’s Sable Lambley, McKinzie Baney and Maggie Lutz in D-1;

Hitchcock County’s Kass Kisker and Shaye Porter in D-1;

Maywood-Hayes Center’s Jaycee Widener, Jaycee Lapp and Ashlin Broz in D-1;

Southwest freshman Caylin Barnett in D-1;

Medicine Valley’s Acelyn Klein and Jessa Bailey in Class D-2;

Wauneta-Palisade’s Haylee Sandman and Cali Cox in D-2.
