Bison seventh graders win season opener

McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Junior High seventh-grade boys tipped off their basketball season with two wins over visiting North Platte Tuesday afternoon.

Trailing 30-25 through three quarters, the “A” team unleashed a 20-10 fourth quarter to rally and win 45-40.

Overall, McCook made great improvements with 33 second-half points after totaling only 12 in the opening two periods.

Josiah Wilkinson’s 15 points led the Bison while Gabe Gans scored 14, Quintin Terry nine, Davien Hanson six and Landen Kmoch one point.

The Bison “B” team also triumphed, 30-22, behind Reid Loop’s 13 points with Kyson Barger adding eight.

McCook “C” boys lost a 21-9 contest to the Bulldogs.
