McCOOK, Neb. — Sara Jeannine Fahrenbruch, age 90, of McCook, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at Hillcrest “A Caring Center” in McCook.

Jeannine was born July 22, 1929, in Franklin, Neb., to parents, Ray and Dorothy (Gettle) Creighton. She was one of three children born to the union. The family later relocated to Trenton, Neb., where they owned and operated Creighton’s Dry Goods Store. Jeannine attended school in Trenton, graduating from Trenton High School with the Class of 1947.

On Sept. 28, 1947, Jeannine married Alvin Fahrenbruch in Goodland, Kan. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Julia and Ramona. The family made their home in Colorado before returning to Nebraska in 1988. Jeannine was employed by the State of Colorado Dept. of Health and Human Services before her retirement. She enjoyed camping in the Rocky Mountains, working puzzles, collecting butterflies, playing instruments and listening to music. Jeannine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson.

Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents; sister, A. Louise Pollmann; and her brother, G. Ray Creighton.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Alvin Fahrenbruch of McCook; daughters, Julia Fahrenbruch and Ramona Fahrenbruch, both of Turlock, Calif.; as well as numerous extended family members, which includes many nieces and nephews.

A final farewell book signing, with family present to greet friends, will be Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, from 4 to 6 p.m. ,at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook.
