MCC men return to basketball court tonight

McCOOK, Neb. — After a week layoff, the 3-2 McCook Community College men’s basketball team is back in action with three games in the next seven days, three games over the Thanksgiving break, and three more road games to end the pre-holiday break.

Tonight’s game at Colby Community College starts at 7 p.m. Early schedules listed this as a home game but was moved to Colby. The Trojans are 3-1 on the season.

On Friday MCC will play its lone home game before the holiday break. MCC will take on Western Wyoming Community College in a women’s/men’s doubleheader Friday.

The women’s game begins at 5:30 p.m. with the men’s game to follow. The Mustangs are 4-1 having split a pair of games with Western Nebraska.

Western Wyoming and is among a group of teams receiving votes in this week’s top 20 Division I poll.

Next week, the Indians will head to Garden City for a 6 p.m. game Monday against the Broncbusters, currently 3-2.

On Thanksgiving Day MCC plays the first of three tournament games in the Foss Motors Thanksgiving Classic in Casper, Wyo. MCC will play Dakota College at Bottineau Thursday, Casper College Friday and Colorado Northwestern Saturday.

The Indians close out the pre-holiday schedule with a Dec. 3 game at Columbus against Central Community College then a weekend road trip Dec. 6 and 7 at Laramie County Community College and Eastern Wyoming.

MCC’s next home game is Jan. 17 against Northeastern Junior College.
