Trojan boys charge to both RPAC running titles

CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Wow, Maywood-Hayes Center pushed Cambridge all race but the Trojans were 11-point winners at Wednesday’s RPAC cross country championship meet.

Senior Joshua Paisley took home another title with his impressive time of 18:34.14) while M-HC senior Eli Handsaker finished second (18:58.79).

Just as important for Cambridge was junior Shane Horwart reaching the top five (19:35.66) and sophomore Aidan Gunderson earning 10th (20:19.4).

MH-C junior Logan Littrell claimed eighth overall (19:56.34) yet Trojan No. 4 runner Brandon Horwart was able to take 14th (21:11.3) just ahead of No. 3 Wolves runner Mauricio Diaz (15th/21:11.3).

The Wolves still happily took second overall just like their home meet at Hayes Center about two weeks ago.

Cambridge (51), M-C (62), Bertrand (63), Paxton (81) and Southern Valley-Alma (108) were the top five schools who entered full teams while Arapahoe was sixth (113).

Southwest junior Jake O’Dea was battling some sickness yet still finished his race in 19:16.45.

Neither the Roughriders or Dundy County-Stratton Tigers listed official places, according to nebraska milesplit.com.
