Pirates fight off Cards, Mets win at Felling

McCOOK, Neb. — Despite a 4-run deficit in the second inning, Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Cardinals almost came all the way back, eventually falling 7-6 to Team Pollmann Pirates on Tuesday. Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Cardinals scored one run on a home run in the third inning.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Cardinals was right in it until Team Pollmann Pirates homered in the sixth inning.

Team Pollmann Pirates opened up scoring in the first inning. Team Pollmann Pirates scored one run when Trenton Raile singled.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Cardinals tallied three runs in the fourth inning.

Quentin Terry got the start for Team Pollmann Pirates. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out nine.

Bryson Gullion led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Cardinals. He went four innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out nine. Cason Waugh threw two innings in relief.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Cardinals tallied one home run on the day. Gullion had a homer in the third inning.

Mets top Royals

Mets jumped out to an early lead over First Central Bank Royals and took home a 9-3 victory on Tuesday. Mets scored on a single by Landon Kmoch, a groundout by Noah Mashek, and a stolen base by Gabe Roberts in the first inning.

Mets secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Mets was led by Ethan Schmidt, Tristan Campbell, and Roberts, all driving in runs in the frame.

Kmoch led things off on the mound for Mets. He lasted three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out seven and walking zero.

Cole Walter was on the hill for First Central Bank Royals. He went one inning, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out one. Jalen Collicott, Reid Loop, and Riley Riggins each contributed in relief for First Central Bank Royals.

Mets tallied seven hits. Kmoch and Campbell each racked up multiple hits for Mets. Campbell and Kmoch all had three hits to lead Mets. Mets tore up the base paths, as five players stole at least two bases.
