Hastings College Mobile Glass Studio here next week
McCOOK, Neb. — The Hastings College Mobile Glass Studio will be in McCook on Tuesday, March 12. in front of the Peter and Dolores Graff Event Center. If weather necessitates, it will be moved inside True Hall. The schedule includes a presentation with chemistry emphasis from 11 – 11:45, as well as art, focused presentations at 12:40, 1:40 and 2:40.
The public is welcome and invited to attend any session as schedules allow. Also invited are area schools and McCook Art Guild members.
Demonstrations include making various small objects, both functional and sculptural. Narration will highlight the process, important aspects of the material and the science, history and art of glass. Michael Beahm, art instructor from the Jackson Dinsdale Art Center, will present along with a current Hastings College art student.
This event is a collaboration among Hastings College, McCook Senior High, and McCook Community College. Housing for the visiting artists is provided by grants from the McCook Educational Foundation and the McCook College Foundation.
