Bonnie was born on April 19, 1942, to parents, Archie W. and Venice LaVerne (Dodson) Schultz. She was born in the family car near Welfleet, Neb., due to a bad rain storm when their car got stuck in the mud.

Bonnie attended Maywood Schools and graduated from high school with the Class of 1960. On Aug. 7, 1960, she was united in marriage to Clifford Otis Ruppert at the Methodist Church in Curtis.
