Devin Lee Bolio

Sept. 15, 1991 - Jan. 31, 2019

BENKELMAN, Neb. — Devin Lee Bolio, 27, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo. There will be no visitation. Devin was an organ donor and cremation was chosen. Services will be Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman at 10:30 a.m. (MT) with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad officiating.

Devin was born Sept. 15, 1991, at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman to Christine Bolio and Richard Boon.

Devin had many interests and was a very active young man. In the winter months he played pool anywhere he could find a mini tournament. He was lucky enough to earn a spot in the APA Poolplayer Championships in Las Vegas in March of 2018. He was a member of the APA Pool League for several years.

When he wasn’t playing pool, he loved being a guide for deer hunters - meeting some very interesting people along the way.

In the summertime he spent a lot of time competing in demolition derbies. He always painted his cars in black and pink - he always believed that tough men could wear pink. Devin also liked to fish, mainly at night. He swore that was when the BIG fish would be biting the best. He loved to dance, sing karaoke - anything to enjoy life to the fullest.

Devin was preceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carol Boon and Ralph (Mac) Boon; step-grandfather, Everett Stute; and uncle, Richard Nichols.

He leaves to mourn his mother, Christy Bolio; step-dad, Leland Stute; father, Richard Boon; brother, Austin Johnson (Tiffany Castle); sister, Daphne Lucas (Reese Troutman), brothers, Litton Stute and Cody Boon, all of Benkelman; sister, Natashia (Hans) Houfek of Emerson, Neb.; grandmothers, Beth Bolio and Dorothy Stute of Benkelman; grandfather Franklin Bolio of St. Francis, Kan.; very special great-aunt, Denise (Boon) Hinton of North Platte, Neb.; and special uncles, Bill Bolio and Roger (Meg) Bolio of Benkelman; special aunt, Becky (Jeff) Klippert of Colby, Kan.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, especially Mackenzie and Zander Stute; many more relatives and friends, including several great pool playing friends.

In September 2018, Devin started helping Robbie Haines with his custom haying business. He was really excited when Robbie let him run the baler. Robbie and his three boys had a very positive influence on Devin, he even started going to all of their football games. If he had a problem, he would call Robbie and talk about it - Robbie helped Devin to work through his problems.
