WAUNETA, Neb. — Every great party deserves a great “After Party!” The 2019 Cattlemen’s Ball has that covered with the booking of the locally popular and talented country rock Brett Alan Band. Brett Alan Band will close the “Ball” in the Saloon Tent, following Clay Walker, Saturday night, June 8, 2019, at the Wayne and Chris Krausnick Ranch, near Enders Reservoir, west of Wauneta, Nebraska. “It’s a real honor to play for such a great event as the Cattlemen’s Ball,” Brett Alan said.

McCook local and Nashville Recording Artist Brett Alan (Schmitz) is an up-and-coming singer, songwriter, and recording artist. With the recent release of his third and latest album, self-titled, "Brett Alan," Brett’s music speaks to his roots of growing up in the Nebraska Sand Hills. The first single released from the album, "You're My Favorite Song," has found radio airplay with both mainstream and independent radio stations.

“Brett Alan is an amazing Nebraska artist with national potential,” said Jesse Stevens, director of Coyote Country radio station. “We are proud to be playing his release ‘You’re My Favorite Song’ on Coyote Country and our sister stations across Nebraska.”

The band’s music is a music lover’s blend of country and ‘80s classics--influenced by artists such as Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Gary Allan, Gretchen Wilson, The Band Perry, Justin Moore, Fleetwood Mac, John Cougar, The Rolling Stones, The Steve Miller Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC and many more. They have been known to croon their blues now and then with some Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Jimmie Hendrix. The band has opened for big names such as LoCash, David Nail, Confederate Railroad, Bart Crow, and Colt Ford.

Brett Alan band members include all local McCook talent with Alan himself as lead vocalist/acoustic guitar; Jon Reiners, lead/rhythm guitar; Jeff Gleason, lead guitar; Angie Reiners, keyboard/vocals; Craig Francis, bass guitar; Gerry Hunter, percussionist; and Richard Stull, sound engineer. Francis, formerly of Cambridge, is the only band member who travels to play with the group as he resides in Colorado Springs. “We are very honored that we were thought of. It’s a privilege to be performing after such a well-known country artist as Clay Walker,” band member Angie Reiners said.

The 2019 Cattlemen’s Ball is a two-day fundraising event to “Round Up a Cure for Cancer,” benefitting the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha. Brett Alan himself shared that he was diagnosed last August with pre-cancerous lesions on his vocal cords. “I’ve been dealing with this battle myself,” Alan said. “Thankfully, I’m still able to continue singing.”

Co-Hosts Derek and Allison Sandman of Wauneta and Krausnick’s of Imperial could not be more excited about the finished slate of entertainment for the Ball. “Even though I do not think we have had the opportunity to hear the Brett Alan Band in person, we have heard many great things about them and we are so excited to have them coming to the 2019 Ball,” Chris Krausnick said.

Nashville star, native of Ogallala, Nebraska, and iHeart Radio Female Artist of the Year, Lexi Larsen kicks off the entertainment line-up on Friday night, June 7, 2019. Nominated for Top Male Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music, Clay Walker headlines the Ball on Saturday night with the popular Brett Alan Band to close out the “Ball.”

“Ball” attendees will also be able to enjoy gourmet food (including four fabulous meals featuring beef in a healthy diet), observe historical demonstrations, take in Nebraska wine and craft beer tastings, participate in a Fun Run or a golf outing, watch the skills of cowboys at the Ranch Rodeo, shop at the General Store, see fashion trends at the Survivor’s Style Show, witness works of Nebraska artists, and enjoy top-notch entertainment.

Every great party requires a ticket. “Ball” tickets are on sale now at www.cattlemensball.com or mail your check to PO Box 9, Wauneta NE 69045. The $400 Trail Boss tickets include both Friday and Saturday events while the $100 Top Hand tickets are for Saturday afternoon into evening only.
