DC-S Tigers off to 12-0 combined start
BENKELMAN, Neb. — Dundy County-Stratton basketball teams remain unbeaten this seson following the Tiger girls’ 62-47 win over Rawlins County (Kan.) Tuesday evening.
The Rawlins Buffaloes brought a strong 3-1 record into Benkelman, losing only to unbeaten Kansas 1A powerhouse Hoxie last weekend.
However, the Tigers took charge quickly with a 16-10 first quarter and 28-15 lead by halftime.
They didn’t led up in quarter three, building the margin to 45-28.
No individual stats were obtained about the Cattle Trail Tournament champions.
Meanwhile, the DC-S boys are also 6-0 following a 63-60 well-earned win over 2-3 Rawlins County.
Senior Jacob Krutsinger-Haines’ 16 points, sophomore Keegan Krutsinger’s 15 and 14 from junior Michael Frederick powered a balanced attack.
Junior Lane Shillington netted nine points and freshman Quade Myers added eight. No Buffalo stats obtained.
