Police to begin crackdown on campers, boats, trailers parked on city streets

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook police officers will issue citations after Thursday, Nov. 15, for campers, trailers and boats parked on the city streets in violation of city ordinances.

Police chief Ike Brown said Tuesday that City Ordinance 113.02 allows these vehicles to be parked in front driveways from April 1 to Nov. 1 each year as long as they do not create a safety hazard; however, they are not allowed to be parked on the street longer than 72 hours.

Chief Brown said his department has received numerous complaints of campers, trailers and boats parked on city streets past the Nov. 1 cut-off date.

Owners are encouraged to remove the listed vehicle from city streets to avoid restricting visibility and violating city ordinances.

“The McCook Police Department appreciates the efforts of all McCook residents in keeping our children, pedestrians and drivers safe,” Brown said.

  • Glad to see Ole Ike got his license plates renewed, they were only expired by six(6) months. Funny thing is he drove it daily to the PD.
