“Raphael” the red Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and “The Whole Pack” of crayons were among the hundreds and hundreds of kids who trick-or-treated on Norris Avenue in McCook Wednesday evening. Norris Avenue residents Michael Gonzales and his family counted, with a clicker, 943 kids — “That’s not counting the pets and the parents,” he chuckled this morning. Mike said that compares to counts in the 700’s last year, “when it was really cold and miserable,” and into the low 1,000’s two years ago, when the weather was as nice as last night. The Gonzales family always has fun with Halloween. “Michelle’s always planning next year,” Mike said.
