McCOOK, Neb. — McCook ran one offensive play and had two touchdowns as senior Morgan Fawver's two early interceptions included a pick six en route to the 61-12 Bison victory over Gering Friday night.

Class B No. 1 and No. 2-ranked McCook (8-0 record) — depending on whether you check Omaha or Lincoln ratings — scored 28 first-quarter points for the second consecutive week.

The Bison led 42-0 by halftime with junior quarterback Cameryn Berry, seniors Gabe Sehnert, Alec Bunger and Billy Bennett scoring TDs.

Bennett tallied his first score on about a 10-yard pass where he powered through one final Bulldog into the end zone.

Junior Corban Jernigan ran 68 yards on the first second-half play from scrimmage to make it 49-0.

McCook surrendered a kickoff return touchdown and one "disputed" TD pass but still finished an awesome five-game stretch there the Bison outscored opponents 279-28.

The Bison get ready to play a huge game at undefeated Scottsbluff next week. Watch for more details about the Gering win in Monday's McCook Gazette.
