McCOOK, Neb. — The flu season is coming, and the Red Willow County Health Department is ready to help protect you and your family.

“We have a full shipment of flu vaccine and can give flu shots immediately,” said Director Pam Harsh.

To that end, a number of flu clinics have been scheduled at area businesses as well as having nurses available every day of the week at our location at the fairgrounds (1400 West 5th Street) in McCook.

Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the department files insurance with a number of companies, as well as Medicare, or the regular vaccine is available for a cash price of only $30.

The department also has state-funded vaccines available at no charge for qualifying children and adults.

Please call to schedule your appointment as soon as possible at (308) 345-1790 or toll-free at (877) 250-2057.

To further serve residents in Southwest Nebraska, we are also holding a Walk-In Flu Clinic at the Community Building in Bartley on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 12 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The clinic is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.

Director of the Red Willow County Health Department, Pam Harsh, emphasized, “Any person six months and older should receive the flu vaccine each year, according to the CDC, as it is the best protection against the flu and any complications that may arise from it.
