WAYNE, Neb. — Following a 1-0 thrilling win over Bennington Saturday night, the McCook National Bank Seniors fell short 11-8 to Hickman in Sunday's Class B Legion State Tournament baseball game.

The Legion Post 203 Seniors (25-15 record overall) now must play Wahoo at 1 p.m. on Monday to remain in Class B state title contention.

McCook edged Bennington, 1-0, in a game delayed almost five hours due to heavy rain across that area of Nebraska. Trae Koetter pitched into the seventh inning before Clayton Stevens finished this shutout.

Logan Greenlee drove in the only run with an infield hit.

MNB blasted 14 hits on Sunday including Greenlee's four for four, but Hickman used a four-run third to lead 7-3 and maintain its edge until the finish.

More details and photos will appear in Monday's Gazette.
