Chalkin' up league championships

Scratchers from Outlaws 1882 Saloon in McCook satistfied their itch for a team championship when they won the Sunday Night 8-Ball title this spring. Team members are all mentioned in today’s story. More champion teams can also be seen in today's McCook Gazette.

McCOOK, Neb. — Several local pool players were recently recognized for winning the Spring Session of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 8-Ball 9-Ball and Masters Pool Leagues.

Roger Lewis from Trenton earned the 1000 lifetime matches played milestone certificate in 8-Ball.

Winning the Sunday 8-Ball titles were “Scratchers” and “Shooters 8-Ball”, both from Outlaws 1882 Saloon in McCook.

Sunday League MVP awards went to Jason Wilson, Dalton Fout, Robert Wright, John Weintz, Beau Richards and Damon Barber.

The Monday 8-Ball championship went to “Just Wayne It” from TJ’s in McCook featuring Bobbi Allen, Kathy Jensen, Kirk Magee, Tiffany Magee and Bruce Hagan, Jerod Corder, Shelley Ringleman and Marshall Tucker.

MVP awards went to Rob Dike, Brent Stehno and Daniel Sattler.

Winning the Thursday 9-Ball League was “Poolin’ Around” from Bears Cave in Culbertson.

MVP awards went to Courtney Hampton, Joe Warneke and Ron Thompson.

The Wednesday Masters title went to “Different Strokes” from Nighttracks in Indianola consisting of Scott Martin, Curtis Kappers, Ryan Stecker and Levi Edwards.

Winning teams each session advance to the Western Nebraska APA World Qualifiers to compete for trips to the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas.

A new session of the APA Pool League starts in September. Teams have until Friday, August 24th to register.
