Tasting on the Bricks

Downtown McCook was jam-packed with shoppers Saturday, with mild weather, Christmas around the corner and “Tasting on the Bricks” taking place. Lisa Wilcox of New Life Bookstore said shoppers seemed to enjoy the snacks offered by businesses participating, as well as “tasting to see what the stores have to offer.” Shoppers who had their punch cards validated by the 12 participating downtown stores were eligible for a free gift from each business. Cathy Kenny, at New Life Bookstore, left, admits to some “last minute shopping” Saturday.

At Farrell’s Pharmacy and Hallmark, Susan Webster, from left, validates the punch card of Marge Grimm. Grimm said she had most of her shopping done because after years of doing it, “you get smart about it after awhile.”
