Finishing touches

James Hegwood Jr. puts the final finish on a section of concrete parking lot at the new Culbertson City Library as Hegwood Concrete Contractors takes advantage of unseasonably warm December weather. A variety of donations and volunteer efforts helped make the new library a reality, the latest being a $30,000 grant from the Albert G. and Bernice F. Hansen Charitable Foundation.

Besides books and other materials moved over from the old library, a memorial tree, right, dedicated to Ward McBee was moved to its new location as a donation by Bruce Hoffman and Common Scents of McCook.
