Mid-Plains governor award athletic insurance contract

OGALLALA, Neb. — The Mid-Plains Community College board of governors approved a low bid of $71,900 from Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services Inc. for 2017-18 athletic accident and catastrophic insurance coverage.

The insurance provides coverage for injuries not covered by the athletes’ own health insurance, for a price of about $500 per year per athlete.

That bid was the lone action item on the agenda for a regular meeting Wednesday at the MPCC campus in Ogallala.

The next meeting will be in Valentine at 6:30 p.m. July 26, with a ribbon-cutting for the new satellite campus there.
