Community Hospital wins 12 National Excellence in Healthcare Awards

McCOOK, Neb. —Community Hospital was honored as a Top Performer hospital receiving 12 National Excellence in Healthcare Awards at the Professional Research Consultants conference in Austin, Texas, May 31 - June 2. The awards, including two Top Performer awards, were determined by the Voice of the Customer through patient perception telephone surveys of Community Hospital patients and employee surveys.

The hospital received the honors at an awards luncheon during the conference. Hospital leaders from across the United States, including four employees from Community Hospital attended the 2017 PRC Client Education Conference hosted by PRC.

Patient surveys were conducted by telephone during a confidential interview to obtain the opinions of Community Hospital patients. The patient survey assessed perceptions of the overall care they received. Research findings are presented to Community Hospital to use in continuous improvement and enhancement of patient satisfaction.

More than 92 percent of Community Hospital employees accessed an online confidential survey tool to give their perceptions of Community Hospital as a place to work. Excellent results allowed Community Hospital to achieve eight national awards. The top performer awards for the Total Compensation Package and Employee Health and Wellness categories means that the hospital rated in the 100th percentile as compared to all U.S. hospitals in PRC’s data base.

Top Performer Award

This honor is awarded annually to eligible facilities scoring at the 100th percentile in PRC’s national client database for the prior calendar year.

5-Star Award

This designation is awarded annually to facilities scoring in the top 10 percent (at or above the 90th percentile) of PRC’s national databases for the prior year. This award is based on the percentage of patients or employees who rate the facility as “Excellent” for the appropriate questions.

4-Star Award

This designation is presented annually to facilities scoring in the top 25 percent (75th-89.9th percentiles) of PRC’s national client database for the prior calendar year. 4-Star recognition is awarded based on the percentage of patients or employees rating the facility as “Excellent” for the appropriate questions.
