BEAVER CITY, Neb. -- Elsie JoAnn Hall, 86, of Beaver City, died Tuesday (Jan. 3, 2017), at Beaver City Manor and Assisted Living.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1930, at Hastings, Neb., to Elmer and Christine (Glantz) Yost.

She grew up in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School. She attended Hastings College and graduated with an education degree from Kearney State College in Kearney, Neb. She taught for a year and half at Trumbull, Neb., before moving to Beaver City and teaching for two years. She lived in Lexington, Neb., and taught for a few years before coming back to Beaver City. She married Bob L. Hall of Beaver City.

She taught second grade for 35 years before retiring in 1992.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and United Presbyterian Women, PEO and Kitchen Queen Extension Club, all of Beaver City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia Poush and Donna Renander; and brothers-in-law, Homer Poush and Clifford Renander.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Hall of Beaver City; children, Cris and wife, Cathy Hall of Edison, Neb., and Bob and wife, June Hall of Holbrook, Neb.; brother, Dick and wife, Marie Yost of Lincoln, Neb.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to the services at the church.

Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Ivan and Joyce Dean officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery at Beaver City.

Memorials are suggested to the Beaver City Library. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City is in charge of the arrangements.
