Fishing club proposed for MPCC
McCOOK, Neb. -- A new fishing club may be in the works at Mid-Plains Community College.
MPCC Board of Governors will consider adding the club at its regular meeting today in McCook, 6:30 p.m. in McMillen Hall at McCook Community College campus.
The board will also take up changing the college's mission statement. The current statement reads "to provide quality educational opportunities for lifelong student learning." The new statement would be "Transforming lives through exceptional learning opportunities for individual student success."
Other items the board will vote on include:
* a grant agreement with the USDA Rural Utilities Service to upgrade and improve distance learning equipment at the Valentine, Ogallala, Broken Bow and North Platte South campuses
* a resolution for Valentine Community Education Agency; the board may approved the Valentine interlocal agreement
* approving the Community College Association annual dues
