Election forum planned Sunday in Culbertson

CULBERTSON, Neb. -- The Culbertson Women's Club plans an election forum Sunday with Hitchcock County assessor Marlene Bedore and with candidates for the Hitchcock County Schools Board of Education and the Village of Culbertson Board of Trustees.

The public is invited to meet the candidates and ask questions at the forum scheduled at 2 p.m., at the Ambulance Barn in Culbertson.

-- Bedore is the subject of a recall election.

-- School board candidates are incumbents Aaron Kolbet and Larry Marks, and challengers Casha O'Byrne, Heath Hamilton and Deborah Walters. Three seats are available.

-- Village trustee candidates are incumbents Marvin Harms, Rick Johnson and Robert Sitzman, and challenger Roger Kolbet. Three seats are available.

Culbertson Women's Club members believe that voters have the power to make changes in governments, and by attending the election forum, voters will be better informed when they cast their ballots in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
