'Treasure hunt'

Thursday, September 8, 2016

Decatur County Museum director Sharleen Wurm sorts through baby dolls donated for the museum's garage sale during the Kansas "Highway 36 Treasure Hunt" 400-mile, 35+-town, 13-county, border-to-border trail of garage sales, flea markets and community activities during the third weekend of September. While the museum's garage sale includes some antiques and collectibles, none have been museum artifacts, but are "treasures" donated by museum supporters for the garage sale, Sharleen explains. All proceeds from the sale at the museum will help support maintenance of the museum buildings in downtown Oberlin. Garage sale times at the museum are Thursday, Sept. 15, noon until 5 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., in the Bohemian Hall on the museum complex on South Penn Avenue in Oberlin.
